🕸️ Development Stack

• My 2021 Web Development Stack: Gridsome + Firebase + GitLab = <3

I’d love to update that post. My Web development stack no longer includes gridsome but does still include Firebase and GitLab CI and a whole bunch of other new friends. A few things I am particularly excited about:

• astro.build — My current favorite SSG
• Bear Blog
• 🌟 Blowfish for hugo is amazing!
• Firebase
• Netlify
• Quartz
• Render
• Railway
• Vercel

These tools serve different purposes and are organized alphabetically.

📈 Analytics

As of this writing, I only use analytics on test domains (like inprodwetest.com).

• I do like 🐐 Goat Counter.

• CheckCle
• Gatus

⛽️ Status Pages

I have a few status pages that I use to keep track of a subset of my websites:

• status.brie.dev is hosted by updown.io. I’ve been using them since 2022 and they’re awesome. Use my referral link for 100k credits. (I spent ~$25 with them in 2022. At my current usage rate, that’ll last me another 21 years.)

• status.carranza.engineer is hosted by BetterStack. I started using them in 2025. The status page is beautiful and the 💗 heartbeat functionality is very nice for monitoring cron jobs.

• In mid-2025, I started using CheckCle.

• I also use Cronitor.

• I have a free accounts with FreshWorks but I don’t use it as a primary status page.
